This year, on Monday April 8, at around 1:58 PM, we will begin experiencing a near total solar eclipse. Michigan will not experience another like it until 2099!
On April 6, patrons of all ages and abilities are invited to join us in the Community Room to prepare and celebrate for this upcoming event. There will be experiments to explore our solar system, concepts of distance and size, and even a few crafty takeaways including your own solar eclipse art and a bendy UV kid.
General distribution of solar eclipse glasses will begin at the library on April 1. 1-2 pairs per person. We will also have a limited number of glasses available at this event. All glasses are distributed WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.
You can find eclipse eye and skin safety information here.
Please be aware of our unattended children policy.
Attendance at Library events constitutes consent to be photographed for use in print and/or electronic publicity for the Canton Public Library.
