While the phrase, "Be Gay, Do Crimes" has existed for a while, it became meme-bait after a photo bearing the phrase in graffiti made the Internet rounds in 2016. The quote is usually satirical, but sometimes serves as a rallying cry for queer solidarity. Either way, the LGBTQ+ teens in these books find themselves caught up in kidnapping, murder plots, heists, and more. While CPL doesn't condone crimes, it sure is fun to read about them in a good book.
