Advanced Fiction for Precocious Middle Grade Readers

Are you a middle-grade bookworm looking to challenge yourself a bit? Wishing the books for your age would get on your level*? Here are some titles that are low on mature content but high in mature style and vocabulary. Some of these are lengthier classics—ones that are often taught in school--but there are some shorter ones in here, too. If you’re looking for a more concrete way to sort by reading level, *Lexile is a common way to measure whether a book will exceed what a reader is ready for. Many items in our catalog are searchable using Reading Level (Lexile) as a filter: https://cantonpl.bibliocommons.com/search
